Kerry Boustead was that rare breed of footballer who was equally
popular amongst players and fans on both sides of the Queensland
and New South Wales border. He captivated crowds and earned
opponents respect with lighting speed and dazzling footwork.
But it wasn't just Bowie's extraordinary on-field exploits that
endeared him to those around him. Off the field, you couldn't
find a nicer bloke. No one ever has a bad word to say about Bowie
because he was and is a genuinely decent person.
Kerry Boustead is one of life's true gentlemen and deserves a
place in the pantheon of great Australian sporting heroes.
